Our Story
Elite Salon Systems was founded in 1981 by Linda Martens, a beauty industry visionary. Linda dedicated her life to not only building Elite into a premier South Florida business, but also focused on helping others and giving back to the community. Since its conception, Elite has established itself as a resource center for stylists to come and grow both technical and business skills so they can be their best.
“Work seven days a week if you have to and don’t let anyone
tell you that you can’t, because you can.” — Linda Martens
In 2005, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the same determination she founded Elite, Linda battled the disease. Unfortunately, she lost her battle and passed away in the Fall of 2006.
It is in her honor that her daughter and business partner, Sherri Martens, has begun a grass roots campaign to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation — an organization dedicated to ending breast cancer forever. 75% of all money donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation stays local to help our South Florida community. 25% is used on a national level to fund research to help put an end to breast cancer.
Our Passion
Elite Salon Systems dedicated 2007 to fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of Linda. Through a series of fundraising events, we successfully raised $100,000. We continue to fundraise in 2008 with the hope of saving one mother, one daughter, one friend from the pain that Linda had to endure.
